Joy Powell

My name is Joy Powell.  I am the County Director and Family and Consumer Sciences agent in Wayne County.  I received my Family and Consumer Science Degree from Tennessee State University and my Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Middle Tennessee State University. I worked for 20 years in Early Childhood Education before making the change to UT Extension.  I have been married for 26 years and have one teenage daughter.  My hobbies include going to sporting events, swimming, cooking and spending time with my family. Officer Duties: Chair awards committee with regional VP’s, encourage awards submissions, conduct the annual awards program on state level and coordinate winners to nationals.
